A peanut sized meteorite was found in Wisconsin this week of April 2010. Geologists have confirmed the rock has a fusion crust, a tell tale sign this is a meteorite found in Wisconsin.
This past week, from southern Wisconsin to central Missouri and northern Iowa a meteor was spotted in the sky. Claims it was everything from a Biblical sign, to UFO's to top secret government weapons tests have been claimed, but this confirms it was nothing more than a meteor that has entered the atmosphere and landed.
As I mentioned in the previous article, Where To Find Meteorites, occasionally you can see a falling star that lands on earth, and if you go after it, there is a chance you may find it.
Geologists at the University of Wisconsin, confirmed it had a fusion crust. The fusion crust occurs from the super heat the rock endures when entering the atmosphere. The geologist also suggests the space rock may have come from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. News courtesy Yahoo.
